Swiss Pavilion

Swiss Expo 2010 will bring a flag that will undoubtedly become one of the most successful. The main attraction will be a lift, such as places to ski, and will make a tour which will show complementarity between life in the city and the countryside. The theme of the Swiss pavilion is “rural-urban interaction, and according to these concepts is to be divided into two areas of the pavilion. Also, seen from above, the outline of the building is shaped like the Swiss Confederation.

This theme was chosen to show the importance of preserving natural areas at the same time seek the welfare of the inhabitants of cities. The content of the flag museum show will focus on the achievements this country has had to raise the quality of life in Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Bern, Lausanne and other Swiss cities, the same way, there will be a great emphasis on the notion of sustainable development, which is a total adherence to the ideals of the Expo 2010.

A peculiarity of the design is that by emphasizing the contrast also reflects the Chinese philosophy of Yin Yang. On the one hand, the urban part, which covers the two inner cylinders, multi-purpose stage, restaurant and shop, is the “Yin” and is distinguished by the bustle, the constant movement, dark colors and materials hard. On the other hand, the rural is the Yang, as will the roof covered with grass, undulating topography, to be open and bright.

The mediator element of both parties will be just the lift, which could be described as a “game” Disneyland-style, meaning that visitors board a vehicle that takes you on a journey showing various scenarios. The tour begins at the ground floor, in the urban environment, then the passengers reach the top, where they will enjoy a cool and nice that exalts nature and the environment.

In addition to the chairlift, the pavilion will have more attractions such as the adapted version of an IMAX film made for the Alps, which are projected magnificent views of the mountains. Another attraction will be “Meet the Swiss”, consisting of multimedia displays which will be presented to the public 15 Swiss citizens and their views on life and the future. There will be about 60 “viewers” as those used in the viewpoints of the skyscrapers, which show three-dimensional actions in Switzerland to raise the quality of life and solve problems.

The facade of the pavilion is a curtain of aluminum-containing tissue cutting edge devices that produce electricity through an LED cell. Visitors will see this process with their own eyes and that the process generates a small white flashes. The idea is to show the public that the energy is around us at all times and only a matter of knowing how to channel.

The pavilion will have a plot of 4,000 square meters and will be sponsored by a variety of Swiss multinationals. The design was chosen from among 104 projects, and was also the first International Pavilion of Expo 2010 to be released to the public which reflects the Swiss interest in promoting its image in China and excitement for the Expo 2010. Certainly the Swiss are aware of the benefits that entails a good participation in the Expo and that is why we offer a pavilion that hide both Chinese and expatriates.
