Steve Heyer’s Hard Work and Determination

There are people whose determination is unwarranted. Although they needed to work hard for everything and everything they have they need to earn, this only served as more motivation for them to pull through just like in the case of Stephon Heyer. A lot of people may know him as one of the renowned players in the National Football League, a few may only know about his roots or where he came from.

Steve Heyer started from humble beginnings. Born in 1984 of the year’s first month, Stephon’s parents, Ronald and Glenda Heyer were as proud as can be. Stephon was raised in the small town of Snellville Georgia.

When Stephon reached his teenage years, it was clear that he is not an ordinary child. He stood above the rest of his schoolmates. At the height of six feet tall and 230 pounds of weight, there was not any doubt. He attended Brookwood High School where he played football as left tackle in his freshman to senior year. In his senior year, Steve Heyer only became much stronger, much taller and much heavier. But more than his physicality, his football skills are undeniable. He clearly had what it takes to steep a notch higher. He was ready for the bigger league, college football.

And when Stephon was in college, he wasted no time. Initially, he was confused which college to go to. And who would not be? He had numerous invitations from various colleges from different states. The college invitations came from everywhere which included Georgia, Michigan, Clemson, Arkansas, Florida, Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky and Vanderbilt. It was then clear that Stephon Heyer was in demand. But while there were plenty of colleges to choose from, Heyer chose to go to Maryland instead.

Because Stephon knew just how important college is and because he values education, he put his studies above everything else. He knew it was supposed to be his priority and that he did. However, this did not stop him from performing extremely well in college football. As a matter of fact, he actually managed to play in fifty college football games. In most of them, around 30 or more, he joined the games as a starting left tackle. He finished college in 2006 with a degree in criminology and criminal justice. It was only a matter of time until he joined the men of the National Football League which he did starting in 2007 as a Redskins.
